Birth-to-pottyAs the name suggests a nappy that is designed to last through to potty training - Easy to change and convenient but requires a separate waterproof cover (wrap)
- Usually fastens with poppers to allow resizing of the nappy.
- Separate waterproof cover allows quicker drying times.
- Should last from birth through to potty training no need to buy another nappy!

- Separate waterproof cover and booster allows rapid drying
- Can vary degree of ‘boosting’ for different children/times of day
Prefolds- A folded cotton pad used in conjunction with a waterproof cover
- Separate components allows easy and fast drying
- Prefold and covers come in different sizes.
- Slim fitting but no elastic on nappy so only single barrier
Terry Nappy- A terry (towelling) square requiring simple folding
- Requires a separate waterproof cover (wrap)
- Once folded terry is gathered to form nappy and safely secured with nappy nippa
- Easy drying of both cover and terry
- Can fit from birth to until potty training by varying fit
- Very cheap system but can take time to get used to
Waterproof Cover- Covers nappy to keep babies clothes dry
- Fastens with Aplix (Velcro style) or poppers and in some cases pull-on
- Available in a variety of sizes
- Also sometimes called a 'wrap'
Liners- Available in two main types - paper and washable
- Used inside nappy
- Allows wee to soak through but not pass back to baby’s skin
- Allows easy removal/flushing of poo from soiled nappies
Booster Pads- A shaped cloth pad used with nappy to add extra absorbancy
- Ideal for temporary boosts such as night-time, car journeys and at times when wetting increases
